Two upgrades only improve the slowdown, which is pretty meaningless once you get to 3/x or 4/x, which you better be.ġ9) helicopter - Wow, what a piece of crap. only useful add is the airburst, but it is a decent one at least.ġ8) glue - I like glue towers but this building is super weak. Range is pretty meh, detection is nice, but the new ability for temples? Talk about overkill.ġ7) sub - subs are already pretty OP so it's probably good that this building is weak. This is a late-game tower usually, though, so it wasn't likely to be great.ġ6) super monkey - super monkeys are pretty horrible economically so no matter what this wasn't likely to be a useful building. In fact they're almost identical.ġ3) ice - I don't like ice towers, but the bonuses here are pretty decent, especially the camo upgrade.ġ4) mortar - the stun is actually pretty nice, but there's just no way you're ever going to use a mortar tower for your specialty building when it's usually a 1-at-most tower.ġ5) bloonchippers - range is pretty unexciting for this tower imo, and the banana thing is a dumb convenience upgrade, so that mostly leaves the stun. And the upgrades don't pair well with the higher level versions of the towers.ġ2) rifle - same. I usually go fire so the tornado upgrade seems meh.ĩ) engineer - all decent upgrades, shame you get fewer towers though, even if the tradeoff is worth it (I think).ġ0) bomb - Nothing terribly exciting but not bad either.ġ1) tack towers - upgrades are good but unexciting, and the tower is one I rarely use. The lock in ability is super annoying, wish there was a way to disable it without selecting every tower.ħ) pirate - solid but unexciting upgrades, getting a base tower that can pop anything is pretty great though.Ĩ) mage - the seeking bolt attack is the biggest bonus imo, but it does greatly improve the base tower and the other bonuses are ok. the gunner is nuts, it's like a bonus super monkey.Ĥ) ninja - shadow ability is great if you know your hardest rounds well, and they get a decent bonus from the other bonuses too.ĥ) spike factory - 1.5x power is an incredible bonus, unfortunately the other ones are pretty weak.Ħ) dartling - the +1 pierce would be more insane if dartlings didn't already have a really great, cheap pierce upgrade on the second path. I haven't played with some of them since a few years ago, but shooting from the hip:ġ) dart monkey - seems OP for beating early rounds and building up banks with the freebies, plus they can pop camo leads from level 1.Ģ) boomerang - makes rangas pretty insane for early popping as well with basically 4x power, but they can't handle camoģ) aces - mostly been using this on fast track, been able to beat quite a few maps just massing them with a cannon for leads. Been experimenting a bit with some of the specialty buildings. I've just been getting back into the game on mobile (played the PC version and mobile version years ago, plus all the older btd games).
